Questa sottospecie si distingue dalla specie nominale per essere pianta densamente ispida con le brattee con margine membranoso e con le ombrelle spesso contratte. Presente in ABR, PUG, SIC E SAR.
La radice è commestibile ed ha proprietà antinfiammatorie ed emmenagoghe. I semi sono carminativi e vermifughi.
